HISTORY & PLACE
A second generation family-business founded in 1997, we have a rich history in furniture design and manufacturing. Our work is shaped by generational knowledge, craft and skill. We build on the expertise of our artisans whose deep understanding of materials has been refined and passed down over time.
Each Woodwrights piece is crafted with passion in our own full-scale timber and upholstery factories in New Zealand.
Our home and the surrounding areas provide a landscape for creativity and exploration with materiality, form and design direction shaped by its origins.

We curate a range of recommended materials for our furniture, to help guide your decision making. We base our selections on the unique design details and manufacturing methods of each piece. You can also specify and supply your own fabric if you wish.

Working with like-minded creatives allows us to deepen design expression, build meaningful connections and expand perspective. Previous product collaborations include: our Kingsview Sofa with at.space, our SBR collection with Seear-Budd Ross, Bouba–Kiki with Buster Caldwell & Luke Jacomb.

Delivered by us
We have our own delivery service (trucks and drivers) and we service as much of New Zealand as we can.
Our freight team: Fabian, Wise, Ben, Misi, and Anton are specialists in handling furniture with care and our dedicated delivery service ensures a smooth and reliable experience.

With over twenty-five years of experience, our team have extensive knowledge of the methods and craftsmanship required to create pieces that endure daily use. Our rich manufacturing history, paired with a passion for design, enables us to confidently work across a variety of materials.
From FSC Certified solid timber to leather that wears in with time, our materials are sourced with sustainability and longevity in mind. We recycle 85% of our raw materials.
